Rebranding Function Creative Co.
Some of you may have seen little tidbits and sneak peeks at my rebranding of Function Creative Co. And if you know me personally, you may also know that last month I left behind my full time job as an in-house designer to be able to pursue my own company on a bigger scale.
It was finally time for me to put some serious effort behind giving Function a full reboot and focus on finishing the content for my online Building Your Brand Workshop for Yoga Teachers.
When I work with my clients, I go through a process of getting to know their brand so that I can provide beautiful graphics, yes, but also so that I can make sure the final project works towards achieving their goals. This time, it was my turn. I needed to take a giant step back and really think about what I wanted Function to be and where I wanted to take my business. So I decided to rebrand and restructure things almost completely.
I worked on a cleaned-up-version of the logo, came up with a few alternative logos to use when necessary, rewrote my content to be more in line with the tones I wanted to communicate, and completely redid my website to focus more heavily on user experience.
Check out the logo before and after comparison:
I also updated the colours to simplify the brand consistency:
As for the website, some of the new features I've added to make it much more user friendly:
It's been a big undertaking and a big project to take on, but I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Realigning myself to my business, and my business to its goals has been such a rewarding task. I feel so much more clear on the direction I want to take Function in, more clear on who my clients are, and more available now to make new connections and take on meaningful projects.
Sometimes, when you feel a little lost in your biz, it's a good idea to take a big step back and look at the big picture. Figure out whether or not your brand is aligned to its purpose and audience in a way that feels effective. If it doesn't, then perhaps it's time for a rebrand for you as well!
The best place to start when you're trying to assess your brand is to narrow down exactly what you're business stands for, what you want to do with it, who you're trying to reach and how you're going to reach them.
